Salads and Sangrias at Barcelos | Khan Market
So after creating a huge buzz by introducing Black and Red burgers, Barcelos is back with another interesting concept for those who really love their drinks. For the first time in the world, Barcelos at Khan Market, has introduced 21 different varieties of Sangrias.
Lucky me, recently I got invited to the introductory event at the café. We were served an array of Sangrias, made with both White and Red wines.
Though I will admit that, I have only had the experience of having the classic Spanish Sangria with Red wine, orange, lime, brandy, apples, cabernet sauvignon and lime soda. However, at Barcelos, I got to savour Lemongrass Sangria, Peach Sangria with black grape, Chilli and Mango Sangria with Mint, Watermelon and Apple in white wine. I loved the mix of flavours, which amazingly stood out, distinctly from each other.
However, my favourite turned out to be Madeira Sangria, Red wine with oranges. Madeira is a Portuguese wine, made in Madeira Islands. This wine is available in different varieties and can be consumed even in desserts. At Barcelos, orange peels and apples were soaked in the wine, which rendered a peculiar taste to the final blend. Unarguably, for me, it was the winner!
The drinks were served along with Pear and Chicken and Caprese Salads. The portions were good and the presentation was impressive.
The Caprese Salad was complimented with extra pesto and chilli dip, while Pear and Chicken salad contained boiled eggs and was served with peri peri dips. The veggies were fresh and the chicken was perfectly grilled.
We had a wonderful time relishing the lovely combination of Sangrias and Salads.
The Sangrias are available for Rs. 255 per glass and you can choose from a mind-boggling 21 varieties ranging from Caribbean Sangria to traditional Portuguese Sangria and lots more!
