The taste of Swiss at Movenpick | Ice Cream Stories
The Swiss have been known to make one of the best ice creams in the world. No wonder, the Swiss ice creams at Movenpick, are no less.
Movenpick, originally started in 1948, as a restaurant in Zurich and is now owned and promoted by Nestle, which has now brought it to India as well.
Their only outlet in Delhi NCR is located in Select Citywalk mall, just besides Johnny Rockets. As there is a huge variety on offer, they have a ‘book of combinations’ for ice creams. So, either choose from the what’s in the menu or order your own combination after tasting as many flavours as you wish.
I ordered for Maple Walnut, Tiramisu and Swiss Chocolate in a waffle cup. The delightful combo was garnished with Chocolate Flakes, Chocolate sauce and Whipped cream. The ice creams were yummy and tasted quite distinct from each other. I loved the chunks of real walnuts in the Maple Walnut ice cream. The coffee in Tiramisu was subtle, while the chocolate ice cream was lovably rich and dark. The size of the cup is good enough for two people.
The price of this combination in a waffle cup was Rs 645.
In case you long for more, go for a tasting Platter with either 4 or 6 Scoops. The ice creams are also available in 900ml boxes, at FoodHall outlets. These boxes cost around Rs. 1000.
Notably, unlike a lot of recent ice cream parlours, all products at Movenpick contain egg. However, known for their passion for gastronomy, at Movenpick, they use only natural ingredients and avoid any artificial additives.
They also serve Sorbets, Pancakes, Waffles and Coffee. With reasonably spacious seating, you can also sit leisurely for a while and enjoy your favourite Swiss ice creams.
